# Update priority order

 * What should I have to first update?
 * PHP, then wordpres version, then theme, then plugins
 * or
 * theme, plugins, wordress, php version
 * or
 * …….
 * What is the right order?

 * The first thing to do, before you do any of the above, is take a backup of your
   site. Most crucially, ensure that you also have a backup of the database.
 * As to the order of the other things I don’t think it matters too much, but I 
   would probably go with your first order: PHP, WordPress, Theme, Plugins.
