# Update problem, critical error

 * Hi, I have suddenly (it was working okay yesterday) received an error message
   when trying to update the Participants Database:
 * “There has been a critical error on this website. Please check your site admin
   email inbox for instructions. If you continue to have problems, please try the
   support forums.
 * Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”
   However, I can create posts and 
   pages, activate and deactivate plugins, etc. So it doesn’t seem to be the website,
   only the Participants Database. I have Version 2.7.3. I also purchased and use**
   Participants Database Field Group Tabs** v 2.1, **xnau Plugin Updates** v. 1.5.1and**
   Participants Database Custom Templates** v 2.4.1. I tried deactivating all these
   plugins (plus a few other unrelated plugins) but still got the error.
 * I have an Updraft update from a week ago, if I *must* restore, but I’d hate to
   lose all that data! Please let me know what you recommend.

 * Yes, there was a bug in the 2.7.3 release, I just issued an update to fix it.
   My apologies for the inconvenience. If this update doesn’t fix it, please copy
   the contents of the email here so I can look into it.
 * You can deactivate and delete the Custom Templates plugin, it is no longer needed
   because this is done in the main plugin now.
