 * When I hit the update button, even if I have not done any editing I get this.
 * Warning: Illegal string offset ‘type’ in /home1/muzza65/public_html/wp-content/
   themes/thesis_17b3/lib/admin/options_post.php on line 159
 * Is there any thing that can be done

 * That looks to be a theme related issue. Have you tried contacting the theme’s
   developer about it?

 * Try:
    – switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current
   theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder
   name using [FTP](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients) or whatever file management
   application your host provides.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
 * – re-uploading all files & folders – **except** the wp-content folder and the
   wp-config.php & root .htaccess files – from a **fresh** download of WordPress.
   Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the
   new ones.
 * – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

 * You don’t have to go that route just yet.
 * Where does the error happen? Is it visible just on the Admin side? Is the site
   still functioning? If the site is still appearing properly then it means you
   have a plugin/theme issue. Try switching to the default theme, as esmi stated,
   and try deactivating all the plugins. 🙂

 * Thanks for that, will try that now. The site is displaying fine. will deactivate
   the plugins now.
