Themes don’t work. Plugins don’t work.
What does “don’t work” mean?
all of my plugins were gone
if you look at your site via FTP or from the hosting control panel, are the plugins there in wp-content/plugins?

Themes won’t update. Plugins won’t update. When I click install – everything says install failed.
For instance – when you click shop at the top right hand corner of the web page nothing happens. The shop is empty where we used to have items for sale.

You didn’t answer my 2nd question — are the plugins physically there?
Was there anything before this happened? Or did the 4.6 update “cause” this?

I am unable to get into my FTP. They were not there before I upgraded to 4.6.1
So you had the plugin problem before the update. OK, that lets us rule that out.
Contact your host and get your FTP working so we can move forward.

Ok. So I was able to get the plugins back in FTP. However even though I am able to activate some of them, others, when I activate will not update.
I get a error message when I update the plugins.

I also get this when I try to activate JetPack:
Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. Please check to make sure http://akiltandacuppa.com/xmlrpc.php is working properly. It should show ‘XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.’ on a line by itself when viewed in a browser and should not have any blank links or extra output anywhere.

In trying to get back some of the plugins, I went to add new plugins and when I type in a search, nothing comes up – the circle just spins on the screen.

I have noticed that when i log into the dashboard part of my site – this weird error message hangs out at the top of the screen:

Do you have a plugin that might be related to somethging called “gtw widget”?
Just a couple of quick observations, also:
The missing portion of that error is: Strict Standards: Declaration of gtw::widget()...

Your theme may have also have some compatibility issues with the latest version of WordPress. You may want to check with the folks you purchased it from and see if there is an updated version available

I was able to delete btw from my FTP. Still can’t figure out why woo commerce and jet Pack will not load and or work
