# Update URL programatically?

 * OK. Ive got a slider set up, which works very well. It shows featured images.
   I’ve tried to dynamically add new sliders to it, with no luck.
 * I’ve found a hack, which is over-writing the image for the promotion with the
   image I want to use, which works extremely well apart from the link for the promotion
   is no longer valid.
 * Is there an easy way to update the URL for the promotion programatically?

 * Perhaps the question you should be asking is how to properly add new sliders 
   dynamically. What are you trying to do and what have you tried this far?
 * Related to updating the URL programmatically, that depends on how you are currently
   overwriting the image for the promotion.

 * Quite possibly! I’ve looked at the documentation but couldn’t figure it out. 
   I’ve hacked a workaround (functional but not best practice – copy image file 
   over original, then update database with new URL directly using the fixed post/
   promotion ID – not ideal whatsoever but works a treat!), but being able to add
   them programatically would be very useful however I know nothing about hooks 
   in wordpress.

 * I don’t think I am entirely clear on what you are doing / trying to do. Perhaps
   if I understood your overall goals and the specifics of how you went about setting
   things up I would understand better.
