Happened to me too, see this thread: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/5-2-5-update-removes-important-htaccess-code-from-wp-other-plugins/
During the update, the WordPress default htaccess code is removed, so you need to either use a backup htaccess file or revert back through your web hosting if you have backups activated.
Only reverting back to 5.2.4 doesn’t help, as the fault is in the htaccess-file, which stays the same even if you go back…
Hope it helps.

Hi, I deactivated the plugin and then installed the previous version. It seems the .htaccess was rewritten, but all the custom configurations I had were lost. I didn’t have backups for .htaccess.
Thank your for posting your thread, I’ll keep myself updated from there.
edit: Cloudways support helped me resolve this, so maybe it was them who rewrote the .htaccess file in order to solve the problem.

Valmy, may I ask if you use Litespeed Cache plugin?
Hi,
Sorry about the delay, I’ve been looking into this on the other thread.
I’m glad your hosts resolved your issue.
I’m wondering though if you had a look at the htaccess file when it was broken and if you would be able to tell me what was broke?
In the other thread it was mentioned that the content at the end of their htaccess file was missing, was that also the case for you or was it something else?
Best Wishes,
Ashley

No, now I use Breeze plugin from Cloudways, I used Wp-rocket for years though.

Hi @aporter, actually I didn’t look at the .htaccess file when it was corrupted, only did after the problem was solved. But I’ll check with Cloudways if they have the corrupted version of the .htaccess.

Ashley, I submitted the problematic version of my .htaccess in the form you sent in the other thread. Hope it helps.
