OK so when I switched from PHP 8.1 to the 8.4 at first on one of my servers, it showed an error that something was missing. Indeed that file was not checked.

However, after a while the whole site recuperates without my having changed anything.
Am I correct in assuming that it just took time to propagate? The posts and search all work.

Same issue again with another hosting account, just updated to PHP 8.4 and unable to do SOME functions like search but pages and posts are now showing up.

Should I just wait? You can see by going to the site and then try to search for something.
    Everything else works.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

OK so I checked with the first hosting account and it had msqlnd checked. (last selection under the M)

The second one that was not allowing search did NOT have that checked and I wonder why.

After checking it, the search now works for the sites on that server.

Very strange indeed that the first one corrected itself?

I guess you can say this is resolved.

What you describe sounds like a problem with your host or its configuration interface. It has nothing to do with WordPress itself. But it’s great that you were able to solve it yourself 🙂

Incidentally, WordPress itself is not yet fully compatible with PHP 8.4. Given that not even all plugins are compatible with PHP 8.3, I would recommend using 8.2 or even 8.1. But that will surely change again in a few months 😉

    Thank you for this information.

By looking at the configuration of the site that fixed itself and worked, I was able to see what file was missing.

But it wasn’t the one in the notice… very strange.
