 * Hello Support … I have a number of WP sites and all running PHP version 7.4.33
and no issues. I have one site on its own VPS SSD running an older version 7.0
and that is also ok but I am getting warnings saying this will not be supported
in the future. In my CPanel I can update to 7.4 BUT my site breaks in some pages.
I can then roll back to PHP 7.0 and it works correctly.
 * I have 28 Plugins and can only find 1 PHP compatibility plugin that shows up
to PHP 7.3 and it reports 5 of my Plugins are showing warnings.
 * My question … what is the best way to check and can I deactivate some or all
of them to check my site works correctly in PHP 7.4.
 * Thanks
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fupdating-php-version-2%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * If you can install plugins, install and activate “Health Check”: [https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)

It will add some additional features under the menu item under Tools > Site Health.
On its troubleshooting tab, you can Enable Troubleshooting Mode. This will disable
all plugins, switch to a standard WordPress theme (if available), allow you to
turn your plugins on and off and switch between themes, **without affecting normal
visitors to your site**. This allows you to test for various compatibility issues.
There’s a more detailed description about how to use the Health Check plugin
and its Troubleshooting Mode at [https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/](https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/)

 * **Many thanks Alan** and most helpful as I did install PHP Compatibility plugin
but found it only when up to php version 7.3 and could not find one that checked
   up to 7.4 and beyond.
 * This has been troubling me as I did not want to cause further problems due to
my lack of knowledge. Sadly when the site crashed when I tried higher php versions
the error message was not helpful so I was no further forward. I will take your
advice and report back.** MUCH APPRECITATED**.

 * I would also set your site into debug mode as you will get more stack trace pin
   pointing the errors

 * **Thanks again Alan .**.. will try after I understand and try the Health Check
which I have just installed and reading up on it. Still a bit nervous of removing
plugins etc but will have a go !!!
