# UpdraftPlus doesn’t delete old backups

 * Hello,
 * The plugin does not automatically delete old backups on Google Drive even though
   I configured 5 maximum backups in the Settings tab.
 * I get alerts from Google Drive telling me that the storage space is full, and
   I have to manually delete the backups.
 * Can you help?
   What information can I give you for troubleshooting?

 * To help us work out the cause of your problem, can you please send us a copy 
   of the backup log?
   This log can be found in the Existing Backups tab of the UpdraftPlus
   dashboard.If you cannot access the UpdraftPlus dashboard, then you can find the
   log file in the ‘wp-content/updraft’ directory via FTP or your hosts’ file manager.

 * It does look like your backups are being pruned, these are screenshots from you
   log

 * It’s likely that these backups were created before you set up the retention rule.
   You will need to remove these extra backups and then keep an eye on the number
   of backups you are retaining
