# Upgrading database question

 * I have installed 2.7 on my server along with the old version (2.2) and I want
   to migrate the old data into the new. I purposefully didn’t upgrade the old one
   because I needed to keep that up while I worked on the new blog/site.
 * Since the db structure in 2.7 is different now, what is the best way to migrate
   the data from the old into the new?

 * Actually, it was on the same domain but, I needed to preserve the original installation
   in order to keep the blog live while I worked on the new one. I ended up upgrading
   the original install to 2.6 and then exported the data from the DB into the new
   one. Worked fine
