 * I need to update an out of date WooCommerce version (2.0.12) on my new client’s
   website.
    Presumably I must update incrementally? _I assume that updating from
   2.0.12 to the latest in one hit will cause problems ?_
 * If incremental updates are the way forward, presumably just stepping up major
   updates would suffice ?

 * The updater files from old versions are present in all major versions, so this
   should not be needed. I suggest you duplicate your database and test on a staging
   environment. You will need to update plugins + themes for support.

 * Mike,
    Thanks for the fast response.
 * Your reply seems to indicate that a current major update would contain updater
   files for all previous major versions ?
 * Have I misunderstood?
