# Upgrading version 2.8

 * I am wondering which files/folders, I can delete when upgrading WordPress version
   2.8? Is there a guide which I can follow for manual upgrading? I have been following
   [http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress_Extended),
   but the folders seem to be different to my current version. My web hosting provider
   seems to not support the automatic way of upgrading, so I have to upgrade the
   manual way. Thanks in advance.

 * Leave these alone –
 * .htaccess
    wp-config.php And the contents of the wp-content directory.
 * Everything else would be replaced by the core zip contents, so could be deleted
   if you wish.
