# Uploads Folder is Suddenly Empty

 * After having my blog up and running fine for the past two years. Today all the
   images disappeared off the site and when I look at the server via ftp, the uploads
   folder where they once were is empty. Any ideas what may have happened here?

 * That’s really strange. Can’t think of any reason as to why this would happen.
   The first thing I would do is contact your host and ask if there was any foul
   play on your account (hackers etc). They might be able to roll your site back
   and recover the data.
 * Do you have a recent backup?
