The setting for UPS on who pays import duty for international shipment was changed sometime in the middle of Sept. I started receiving bills for international shipments and couldn’t figure out why.

The only reason I figured this out is because there is a line on the UPS shipping label at the bottom which normally reads:
“BILLING: P/P” – The shipper pays the transportation only; duties/taxes are billed to the receiver on import (DDU/DAP).

since Sept. this line now reads:
“BILLING: F/D” – Free Domicile (DDP) – the shipper (or a designated third party) pays both the transportation and all duties/taxes.

There are no options to change this setting. Further, there is no way to tell what setting for billing is currently selected. Please help, as this has already resulted in hundreds of dollars in extra shipping costs!
