  • Hi @mushlih,

    Thanks for the question. The links above the page titles are not an error in the search results. These links are added automatically by Google and they represent the breadcrumb links on the page. If you’ve added a category to the breadcrumbs, we expect this link to go to the category.

    We have more details about how breadcrumbs affect search results here: What are breadcrumbs? Why are they important for SEO?.

    Hi
    The breadcrumbs should look like this: https://prnt.sc/uct98v
    However, in the search view it only shows categories without showing the title, I want it to show the category then the title, how do I do it?
    This is my site link: https://mutiaradakwah.com/pengertian-dan-faedah-ilmu-tajwid/
    Thank you

    @mushlih

    We looked at the source code for https://mutiaradakwah.com/pengertian-dan-faedah-ilmu-tajwid/ and the breadcrumbs schema that Google uses is not coming from Yoast. You will need to get the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs in order to be able to customize the breadcrumb pathway so that Google ultimately shows your preference.

    To get the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs we ask the following:
    – 1. Reach out to your theme developer and ask if WordPress breadcrumbs have been included. WordPress breadcrumbs are not native to WordPress themes and need to be added in by a theme developer.

    – 2. If they have been, you will then need to implement Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs. You will need to place special code in a php file. Most often this is your single.php or page.php: This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/help/implement-wordpress-seo-breadcrumbs/#implement.

    – 3. Then activate the breadcrumbs by going to SEO->Search Appearance->Breadcrumbs->Enable

    Unfortunately, there’s a difference between the support we can offer and the level of programming needed to change (core) features of our plugin. Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. And even though we cannot be of any assistance, you’re completely free to change anything in the plugin to better suit your needs.

    We highly recommend checking out our list of Yoast Partners here https://yoast.com/yoast-partners/ in case you are in need of development.

    We will also keep this issue open for 2 weeks in case someone from the community can help. Perhaps a developer watching these forums can assist further. After which, we will close in order to keep the overview.

    Hi
    The breadcrumbs on my website come from my theme, supermag, not from any other plugins

    Hi @mushlih

    Google uses the breadcrumb schema to output the breadcrumb pathway in Google (instead of the permalink). If you want to use the theme’s breadcrumbs you can do so, but we are unable to troubleshoot the issue as your theme is outputting the schema instead of Yoast. We suggest contacting your theme developer for more information if you want to continue to use your theme’s breadcrumbs.

    You are also welcomed to switch over to the Yoast breadcrumbs (using the previous steps) and if you run into any issues with breadcrumb schema we can help!

    I have mentioned the problem here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/breadcrumb-37/
    But it looks like I have to make children, unlike Yoast’s article, how do I do it without creating a child theme?

    @mushlih

    We are not familiar with your theme so we are not able to say. We can only say to contact the theme developer for more information regarding your particular theme need.

    We can also say that if you are using the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs on your site you can customize them to make them appear to your preference. Once you have the Yoast SEO Breadcrumbs on your site, let us know if you run into issues!

    Hi,

    We apologize for any miscommunication. We usually keep forum threads open for 1 week to keep the forum overview, but it’s usually with issues related to the Yoast SEO plugin requiring any developer assistance for custom code and such.

    We thought you would contact your theme developer for more assistance on this matter regarding the breadcrumbs and schema so we set it to resolved. We’ll keep this open for 1 week in case there is someone from the community who can help for your theme and its breadcrumbs.
