The request time out means WeChat servers were enable to reach the server where your website is hosted. If it was an issue with the plugin, a different error message would be displayed. I would recommend you to check the server setup, and possibly contact Tencent for more information. I suspect this is the reason why you’re experiencing issue. As per Chinese cybersecurity law, your website should be hosted in China in the first place because it deals with user information (user accounts, WeChat public information, etc), where there would be no connection issues.
