 * Due to new Cookie policies in our country I do not want any cookies to be set
   for normal users.
Is there an option disabling this or which function needs
   that cookie? Thank You!

 * Hi Robert, are you seeing a cookie being set for non-logged-in users?

 * There are only very specific scenarios where that cookie is set.
    It’s never
set for normal visitors, unless they visit non-normal pages, such as the login
   page.
 * Can you test again by ensuring your cookies are definitely cleared and loading
only, for example, the home page.
 * Also, please ensure you’re on the latest version of Shield.

 * Thank You for Your fast answer. Again. Great support.
    Fresh browser, no log
in, just homepage: cookie. Latest WP, latest plugin version. Hm. Active are
    - ips
    - login_protect
    - firewall (cookies include is inactive)
    - headers

 * It’s an odd one I can’t fully explain. We’re going to release 8.3 next week and
we’ve just added in a bit of a cleanup around the sessions to make it clearer
   when that cookie gets set.
 * All that said though, these cookies don’t represent any sort of tracking, or
identification mechansim. There is nothing in any part of the the plugin linking
a visitor’s cookie to anything or information, except of course for logged-in
   users.

 * Thank You very much, no problem.
    — The coming law in Germany does not distinguish
between tracking or something else: cookie only after permission. Maybe technically
necessary cookies are allowed without permission.

 * Hopefully 8.3 will resolve this for you.
 * But the issue around cookies can be resolved by notifying visitors of the use
of cookies and explaining what they are. They can accept that or reject it.
 * I think the GDPR legislation is designed to ensure that users/visitors are generally
better informed about what’s happening, and give them more options, not prevent
   the use of cookies.
