 * I was wondering if it’s possible to restrict FileAway and/or FileUp to a list
   of users (not just roles) within the shortcodes. Is there some options in the
   shortcode builder that I didn’t see or understand?

 * No but if you use another plugin of mine called Eyes Only User Acces Shortcode
   you can use it in combo with file away.
