# User groups for wordpress?

 * I was using buddypress to build my community section of a site I am working on,
   but it just feels clunky and I keep getting disappointed by the UI and bugs that
   I encounter.
 * So- I am looking for a plugin that will allow for user groups as well as private
   groups? Is there a plugin that does this or am I stuck with buddypress for the
   time being?

 * I agree that BuddyPress can be clunky.
 * You might try something like [User Access Manager](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/user-access-manager/)
   for what you’re trying to do.

 * Thanks for the reply.
    But I’m a bit confused- does this allow users to create
   their own groups, have the option to private and/or have forums inside of it 
   too? Buddypress is honestly perfect, but it’s clunky in UI and I’m experiencing
   nasty bugs and compatibility issues.

 * by groups, I mean user created groups in which they can interact with one another,
   with ONLY people in their group, etc.
