# User sync – new users

 * Hi – I’ve just purchased the premium version but I think it may not have the 
   function I require. I want to be able to automatically sync my Mailchimp list
   when a new user is added to WP. So when a new user is added to WordPress (for
   a selected role) – then a new user subscriber is also added automatically to 
   MailChimp (specific list). Is this possible? If so how do I set this up? If not,
   do you know of a plugin or other way I can do this?

 * I regret to say we do not have such a feature. We did have it in one of our free
   add-ons but we discontinued it last year due to the number of issues it created
   and it’s also not GDPR compliant.

 * I’m still using User Sync from when it was a free add-on (it’s the most useful
   feature of this plugin, in my opinion!), and though I don’t need it to be GDPR
   compliant, could you expand on the “number of issues it created” or point me 
   to where I can learn more about them?

 * UserSync is indeed part of the Premium plugin now. But the new version of UserSync
   will never touch the subscription status of users, and thus only sync their data
   if they are already subscribed.
 * Most “issues” were regarding people misunderstanding the consequences of clicking
   Manual sync and resetting the subscription status of all their users to whatever
   the settings in their usersync are.
 * We also improved the 2 way sync setup to where it’s not just flipping a switch
   in the plugin to turn that on.
 * We no longer support the old version of UserSync, but feel free to keep using
   it “as is”.
