 * Is there a way with S2Member to do a custom update page where users can update
   their phone, email, address then it could direct them to a payment page with 
   paypal? I see that S2Member has a billing update page but we need to get their
   info before they pay.

 * Have you tried the custom registration fields? I added mailing address, etc.,
   to the registration form, they have to provide the info before it sends them 
   to PayPal.
 * It might be a Pro only feature, not sure.

 * Custom registration fields in registration forms are an option that’s available
   only with the (paid) Pro version. You can get that from the s2member website.
 * The Pro version can integrate directly with PayPal so that users register their
   details and pay in one go.
