# Using brackets in widets

 * Is it not possible to us brackets in widgets at all. No matter what I’ve tried,
   from polls to merge codes, the brackets with the text inside them display – that’s
   all. They don’t execute.

 * Assuming you mean [shortcodes], these normally need to be placed within the body
   of a post or page. So, the short answer is – No, they won’t work in a widget.
