# Using my PHPBB3 database

 * Greetings!
 * First off, I am new to WordPress and this question might be stupid or a repost.
   I did do a search for my question but all the answers seem “dated” and the plugins
   I found seem out of date. If my question is placed wrongly then I am sorry, don’t
   scorn me :(.
 * I am thinking of using WordPress as a frontpage for my gaming community. The 
   installation seems simple enough (I am using an Ubuntu server for this) but I
   want to use my MySQL database from my PHPBB3 (latest version) forum. As I stated
   before I found multiple plugins that can do this but they all seem dated.
 * What would be the best course of action in realising this?

   your PHPBB3 & WordPress installation?

 * Hi Dyrvex,
 * All you will need to do when setting up your WordPress installation is enter 
   the same database details as your PHPBB database.
 * This will automatically add the tables to your database.
 * This is if you have a new installation of WordPress, you will need to do other
   things should you want to import a current database, is this what you are trying
   to do?
