 * I am using Participants Database to hold short biographical records.
 * I have created a page that just contains all my records. Clicking on the selectable
field The name of the individual takes you to the detail page for that record.
   Now the setup Guide” says:
 * > On the “Manage Database Fields” page you can determine which fields get shown
   > in the list and which column they will be in. This is under the “Display” column
   > and you give each field you want to show a number which determines which column
   > the field will appear in. Zero means it won’t show at all.
 * Now I cannot find this in the settings at all. Where exactly is it?
 * On my detail page, I have just [pdb_single] which initially was not very clever
as it listed all the fields for all the Field Groups, so I deleted the inbuilt
field groups I was not using. That has partially fixed the problem but it still
displays all the fielda but some I want to hide like the ID and my Sort field.
 * Can the layout of [pdb_single] be edited?
 * Can [pdb_list] be edited to?

 * I’m sorry about the confusion, that page is for older versions of the plugin,
it is not relevant to the current plugin.

 * Thank you, this goes a little way but I still cannot see a setting that allows
you to hide specific fields in the [pdb-single]. I want the fields, I just don’t
want the front end to display them.

 * Ok there are two ways to set this up. Globally, you can control which fields
are shown by setting the [“view mode” of the field group](https://xnau.com/work/wordpress-plugins/participants-database/participants-database-documentation/the-manage-database-fields-page/#field-groups).
This is on the Manage Database Fields page under the Field Groups tab.
 * You can also set which fields are shown in the shortcode using the [“fields” or “groups” attribtues.](https://xnau.com/work/wordpress-plugins/participants-database/using-the-participants-database-plugin/#which-fields-will-a-shortcode-show)
