 * Hello,
 * I have a WordPress 2.9.2 installation (IIS 6.0) in the root directory of my site
   and I’ve created a sub-directory with several files for users to download (not
   part of the actual WordPress installation). Unfortunately, every time I enter
   the URL to this sub-directory, it takes me back to the WordPress installation(
   with errors) and I’ve been trying to figure out how to fix this.
 * E.g.
    1) [http://www.mywordpress.site/](http://www.mywordpress.site/) –> Root
   directory, WordPress Installation
 * 2) [http://www.mywordpress.site/subdirectory](http://www.mywordpress.site/subdirectory)–
   > Location of files for download (permissions are set to allow for directory
   browsing so that users can view and download the files that they need)
 * When I enter the URL for the sub-directory in my browser (as per #2 above), it
   for some reason takes me to #1 with the following error message:
 * >  Webpage error details
   > Message: Unterminated string constant
   >  Line: 1403 Char: 63 Code: 0 URI: [http://www.mywordpres.site/subdirectory](http://www.mywordpres.site/subdirectory)
   > Message: ‘J.parentNode’ is null or not an object
   >  Line: 5 Char: 1913 Code:
   > 0 URI: [http://www.mywordpress.site/wp-includes/js/swfobject.js?ver=2.1](http://www.mywordpress.site/wp-includes/js/swfobject.js?ver=2.1)
 * Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.
 * Dave

 * have you tried putting a slash ( / ) at the end like this? [http://www.mywordpress.site/subdirectory/](http://www.mywordpress.site/subdirectory/)

 * Hello,
 * Thank you for your feedback.
 * I tried doing that to no avail. I even tried the Redirection plug-in to see if
   it would make a difference but it hadn’t.
 * Any ideas on where the problem might be? Server-level or installation?
 * Thanks,
 * Dave

 * does your subfolder contain any files, specially an index.php or index.html?
   maybe that’s causing it to redirect. i tried it on a couple of my sites but didn’t
   encounter that problem.
    sorry i’m not really a programmer, but i’ve built a
   few sites to kind of work my way around php and stuff.
