 * Hi there,
 * I want to include some info with links to other pages in the wiki within a wiki
   page. In mediawiki they’re called templates. In case I need to modify something
   I wouldn’t have to go page per page.
 * Is it possible in Yada Wiki?
 * Thanks

 * Hi Frank,
 * Yes, check out “Output TOC Page” in the plugin description here on WP org. TOC
   is a wiki page named “TOC” that you can include in any other wiki page using
   the TOC shortcode. Your TOC page could include the type of info and links you
   mention.
 * Hope this helps,
 * David

 * Hi David, thanks for replying so quickly…
 * I don’t get it…
 * I want to include our embed, however you call it, another page or template called“
   years past”… How is the shortcode for this one?
 * Thanks,

 * H Frank,
 * Go to Admin, Wiki Pages, Add New and create a new wiki page and call it TOC (
   in caps without anything else). In that page put the content that you would like
   to be included in other wiki pages and apply a layout and style it as you want.
 * Then go to Admin , Wiki Pages, Add New and create a new wiki page and give this
   one a name as desired. On the editor toolbar above the content area where the
   editor buttons are, one of the rightmost buttons looks like a newspaper page.
   Click on it. You will get a popup that says Listing Type and “Output TOC Page”
   will be the first one. Click on insert shortcode. That will input a shortcode
   in the editor where ever the cursor was like this:
 * `[yadawikitoc show_toc="true"]`
 * Put some other content above or below it, save it and view it. The contents of
   the TOC page will have been included along with whatever you added above or below
   it.
 * In the documentation there are some pages that talk about it more:
 * [https://www.webtng.com/wiki/plugin-overview/](https://www.webtng.com/wiki/plugin-overview/)
 * Best,
 * David

 * Thanks David,
 * But what if I need several templates for different pages? How can I save and
   insert different templates?
 * Regards,
 * Frank

 * Hi Frank,
 * Yada Wiki only has that one option. If you need more than that then you might
   need to use something that lets you create a template and insert it with a short
   code, like a page builder (Elementor or one of those).

 * Hi Frank,
 * Here are two that should do what you want:

 * [https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-pages/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-pages/)

 * Hi David,
 * I tried using the Gutenberg editor for the reusable blocks, which I think it’s
   a great idea by the way, but for some reason I can’t get it to work.
 * I have just downloaded the “insert pages” plugin and was testing it out, and
   I have to say that it works flawlessly, it’s brilliant.
 * I can now work with the Yada Wiki plugin and place blocks of information, like
   the ones we see in the Wikipedia at the bottom of their different pages.
 * I have to get me a new theme for my wiki and I’ll be all set to go.
 * Thanks a lot David for your infinite patience and great support…
 * How can I donate to your project? I’ll be more than happy to contribute…

 * Hi Frank,
 * I’m glad you are good to go!
 * I’m big on the Kadence theme. It has a large number of Customizer options in
   the free version available here in the theme directory, though I’ve seen lots
   of nice wiki sites using a variety of themes.
 * I’m happy to help. You can always add a review of the plugin, which would be
   nice.

 * Hi David,
 * This is just to let you know that the wiki works much better than expected, I’m
   really happy with it.
 * Along with the the Yada Wiki plugin, I’m using the [Insert Pages](https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-pages/)
   plugin as you recommended. This plugin allows me to insert just the content I
   need, like templates in mediawiki.
 * And I’m also using the [Internal Links Manager](https://wordpress.org/plugins/seo-automated-link-building/)
   to link to the different pages I create in the wiki without having to link them
   manually inside every page or post.
 * And last, but not least, I’m playing around with the Kadence Theme, which I didn’t
   know anything about, and I think it’s a great theme, it’s got so many features,
   my goodness!!! 😁
 * I think I have all I need to run the wiki.
 * Again, thank you very much for all the help…
