 * Hi everyone. I’m pretty new to wordpress, so pardon me if my question is stupid.
I have bought a wordpress theme and applied it to my site. However, the theme
needed a lot of work, so I instead uploaded that same theme on a different server
to work on it visually. I was hoping to simply edit the design on my other server/
account (since that wordpress I don’t even use) and once it looks proper, somehow
apply it to the theme on my original account/server. (Hopefully everything I
   said makes sense).
 * So my question is, can I do that by just backing up the theme folder and uploading
it to a different location? Will all my changes be saved? (such as menu buttons,
   widget settings…etc…)??
 * If not, how can I back it up?
 * Thanks in advance!

 * Any changes that you made by editing the files will be saved in the files, and
you can copy them across to your new server without a worry.
 * Anything that you’ve had to do in the admin area (menus, widgets, etc) is stored
in the database, so you would need to transfer the database as well. Just remember
that this would transfer everything in the database inclduing all of your content,
so over-writing your existing database will overwrite any content you have as
   well.
 * If you have the other site ready to go, you can always jsut use that as a guide,
and set up the other site to match it. I’ve had to do that before, and it doesn’t
take anywhere near as long to copy a setup as it does to do it in the first place.

 * Thanks for the reply. I figured it would probably be like this. Though the theme
I bought had an option to import “Sample data” and once clicked it included all
its pages and widget settings (it uses the Gantry extention). So I figured I
could somehow do the same thing. Would you know if that’s possible?
 * If not, then I’ll just do it the normal way. It’s true, once I’ve already done
   it, it shouldn’t take long.
