# v3.8 Theme Update error

 * I’ve just upgraded to 3.8 and in Appearance > Themes my custom theme is showing
   that it was an update available. The linked theme is something completely different.
 * I used a fairly generic name for my theme, so changed it hoping that this would
   resolve the problem. It didn’t. The same error showed, and the update was for
   the same (different) theme.
 * Any clues?
