# Validation help needed please

 * Please can I get some sympathetic help with the validation errors at [http://www.diamondfusion.org.uk/](http://www.diamondfusion.org.uk/)
 * I understand I am an idiot and have done various things wrong but the site is
   live now and IE10 is reading it with the sidebar at the bottom.
 * The validation error (4 at the mo but I’m sure there are many more) are as follows:
 * **Bad value X-UA-Compatible for attribute http-equiv on element meta.
    <meta 
   http-equiv=”X-UA-Compatible” content=”IE=EmulateIE7″ /> 
   (which I don’t even 
   know where it’s getting it from)
 * **An a start tag seen but an element of the same type was already open.

    (No idea again but it’s
   obviously the menu – is the theme telling it something wrong?)
 * The last two shown are also on that navigation line.
 * I’m wondering if the navigation bar is screwed up so throwing out IE10? Sorry
   I am not more use at deciphering this, I’ve been trying to teach myself but I
   am guessing that I should have used a more up to date theme to start with?
 * Thanks for any help – and please be nice, I know I’m doing loads wrong but am
   trying to sort it out

 * Try looking in your theme’s header.php template file. The secind error is going
   to be a little harder to track down. It’s obviously an issue relating to your
   theme’s custom menu markup but the actual cause may be above this menu. You need
   to track down what template file is opening a tag and then not closing it just
   before (or within) your custom menu markup.

 * Oh good, I’m relieved it’s not me being rubbish – it is actually hard to track
   down. Right, I am going to first of all take the menu out of the equation and
   see whether that sorts out my IE10 problem (which is the sidebar dropping to 
   the bottom) and if it does I’ll replace the menu somehow… not sure how!
 * Oh this is hard work and my brain hurts now
