 * Hello, I’m struggling to change the colour of the header background from white
   to #343538. I have tried
    header#masthead { background-color: #343538; }
 * and it still won’t change to white!! help!!

 * That code should have worked. How were you adding it to your site? Were you using
   your theme’s built-in custom CSS option or were you using a custom CSS plugin?
   Are you using a caching plugin? If so, you should temporarily disable it while
   you work on your site.
