 * Is it possible to create a product that will allow the customer to enter their
   own price for it and then check out? I have a client who says he was told this
   is possible but I don’t see any way this can be accomplished.

 * You could set the product to be a “donation” this would allow the buyer to enter
   a price.

 * I’m trying to do the same thing and would love to hear what you figured out. 
   I tried donations and the amount field doesn’t work on a single product page (
   Which is what I need). I can only get it to work using the Donation widget. ARGH
