# Variable products broken

   we’re having the same issue, but with WP 5.5.1 and WC 3.8.1. Essentially, the
   product data dropdown has disappeared.
 * Will this be addressed in any 3.x updates? We’re planning on upgrading to 4.x
   but cannot do so at this time.

 * The workaround for now was to modify /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/includes/
   admin/meta-boxes/views/html-product-data-panel.php line 15 and remove the “hidden”
   class.
 * While we would normally never modify plugin files, this seems a quick and hopefully
   nondestructive bandaid until a 3.x fix or until we can safely migrate to 4.x.

 * Thanks for sharing your workaround. The issue has however, already resolved in
   v4.4.0 so the core file edit wouldn’t be needed once you’re ready to make the
   update.

 * Thanks, yes we see that 4.x solves this, and until then, our 3.x workaround will
   suffice.
