 * Hi friends,
 * I use the ean code plugin for 3 months now and it was perfect. But since a few
   days all my varations het the same ean code instead of an unique like it was
   before. How can i solve it back to each variation get his own ean code?
 * I have a sample picture of it.

 * Hi [@joeygr](https://wordpress.org/support/users/joeygr/),
 * Could you please let me know:
 * 1. Which “Type” have you set in “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > General”?
 * 2. What is your latest product ID? Is it over 10000?
 * 3. Did you set anything for the “Seed prefix (optional)” option in “WooCommerce
   > Settings > EAN > Tools > Product Tools > Generate”?

 * Hi [@joeygr](https://wordpress.org/support/users/joeygr/),
 * Thank you for the reply.
 * I think I know what’s going on. You are generating EAN-8 codes, and EAN-8 consists
   of a 3-digit country prefix, 4-digit “seed” (i.e. product ID), and the last digit
   is a checksum digit. Now, as you’ve crossed 10000 product IDs recently, your
   EANs ran out of “free space” (as your product ID has 5 digits now, not 4 as we
   need it in the EAN-8 case).
 * Now regarding the solution – coincidentally we had exactly the same question
   from one of our [other customers](https://wpfactory.com/item/ean-for-woocommerce/#discussion-354321)
   recently, and we’ve added a new option for him to our plugin – “Country prefix
   length”. It allows using a 2-digit country prefix instead of a 3-digit. This
   new option is currently in our development version – we are going to release
   it to the public a bit later today. I will get back to you as soon as it’s released.

 * Hi again, [@joeygr](https://wordpress.org/support/users/joeygr/),
 * As promised, we’ve just released a new plugin version (v3.3.0), where I’ve added
   new “Country prefix length” option to “WooCommerce > Settings > EAN > Tools >
   Product Tools > Generate”. Set it to `2`. Please note that this will work only
   for the EAN-8 type – other types will always use `3`. Give it a try and let me
   know what you think.
 * One note though – we will get the same problem when you will reach 100000 products.
   The most obvious solution to this is to use EAN-13 instead of EAN-8. Even though
   theoretically there is a limit of products in EAN-13 as well, in reality, there
   is no way any site will have so many products.

 * dear friend
 * many many thanks for the good help! It works now perfect again. I gonna check
   if ean 13 fits on my labels.
 * All works now!
