# Ver 5.0 — Not Using Block Editor

 * The “create a document gallery” option is gone. How do I select PDFs? How do 
   I edit existing DG shortcodes?
 * I’m using Classic Editor and Elementor Pro.
 * I read through the documentation and I’m sorry, but I’m not finding anything 
   that will make 5.0 work as previous (and fantastic) versions. Can you point me
   int he right direction, please?

 * We removed support for the classic editor since the block editor (Gutenberg) 
   has been the default in WordPress since 2018. With this release manual use of
   the `[dg]` shortcode would be necessary in order for use within the classic editor.
 * That said, based on feedback from both of y’all it sounds like more people are
   relying on the classic editor than expected. We can re-introduce support for 
   it. Look for a new release re-adding support today or tomorrow. In the meantime,
   suggest downgrading back to version 4.4.

 * Hi Dan, thank you for the quick response — and for all your efforts. Document
   Gallery just might be the most important plug-in I use. Nearly every one of my
   150+ clients has a PDF “flyer table.” And if don’t have a flyer table, they have
   documents, and insurance forms, and just a host of PDF uses. I’ve looked for *
   years* and _nothing_ touches Document Gallery in terms of elegance and simplicity
   of use.
 * No sir, I don’t use the block editor at all. The “Classic Editor” plugin is the
   very FIRST plugin I install on a new site.

 * Ok – version 5.1 just released should restore compatibility with the classic 
   editor. If you notice any regressions in functionality following upgrade, please
   let me know here and we’ll get it figured out!

   Please do let me know if anything looks out of place.
 * I did notice some weird editor behavior in classic while testing this release,
   but the same behavior was in 4.4.4 so didn’t want to delay this release for that.
   But it is on my list to investigate and resolve.
