• I have used a third party to register a domain name, hosting and wordpress.
I intend to use wordpress to set up a web site for a samll company with the normal information pages and photos.
I have used the WordPress tutorial “first steps with WordPress” guide and notice that publishing puts information immediately on the web site for the public to view and that there are also categories of “draft” and “Pending”
I have experimented by doing a few “draft” and “pending” posts but can only view these individually but do not seem to have found a way of viewing them collectively as if I was viewing the site in it’s published form.
I wish to build the full web site over some days or weeks before publishing and it is therefore essential that I have a way of seeing and approving the full site before publishing.
I assumed there would be a way of restricting it to my computer and then uploading when I was ready.

  • There’s no direct link from a draft post to another draft post unless you publish it.

If you try to prevent the Search Engine to “crawl” your page, you can Block your website from Search Engine, Admin > Setting > Privacy

Site Visibility: Select “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors”

Then, not to advertise or promote the URL until you’re ready to publish. THerefore, you can do what you like (publish a test post or anything you like to).

I believe no one will know the website unless those who know your domain.
