# VISUAL EDITOR

 * My visual editor stopped suddenly to display all options whereas HTML editor 
   is OK but underlines spelling mistakes ??? I can write in the visual editing 
   box but it is invisible. Editing box in my profile is not checked. I updated 
   3.4.2. I deleted the cache. TinyMCE is probably the solution but I MUST KNOW 
   WHY this thing happens. Thanks.

 * That looks like a fairly dated WordPress installation from the screenshot but
   try the following as means to troubleshoot this problem.
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
 * – [resetting the plugins folder](http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F)
   by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause
   problems.
 * Once you’ve deactivated the plugins and switched to the Twenty Eleven theme, 
   clear your browser cache and cookies. Then re-login into your WordPress dashboard
   and visit the post editor again.
 * If that does come up correctly, then you’ll need to identify the conflicting 
   theme or plugin by reactivating them again one at a time.

 * Hi Jan,
    Grateful for your prompt answer thanks to which my problem is solved:
   it was one of the plugins : WP-POLLS. I do not understand though why this could
   occur since I never used this plugin, instead I use Lasonde.fr. Especially during
   the night, since everything was ok yesterday but not today !!! So the visual 
   editor works again and I am adding TinyMCE functions which I installed this morning.
   On the other hand, please do tell me why my editor looks dated, as I know I have
   WP 3.4.2. Thanks again & cheers.
