# VP Causing Caching issues

 * Hi- I’ve discovered a new issue with my site and after testing all plugins, found
   that Visual Portfolio (VP) was causing this issue. The newest version is affecting
   my caching. I use the Proxy Cache feature on my site and upon testing got the
   following results when VP is activated:
 * -The header Cache-Control is returning “no-cache”, which means visitors will 
   never get cached pages.
    -The header Pragma is set to to “no-cache” which means
   visitors will never get cached content. -A plugin or theme is setting a PHP session
   cookie on every pageload, which prevents caching.
 * I didn’t see anything in the settings that I could change. Any insight?

 * Can you provide some more information to reproduce this issue? Where comes the“
   Proxy Cache” feature? Is this from your server host? If yes, can you tell me 
   which host is it?

 * Hi there! We use DreamHost’s Dreampress hosting. Proxy Cache is the plugin I 
   use to determine any issues with caching, etc. [https://wordpress.org/plugins/varnish-http-purge/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/varnish-http-purge/)—
   I’ve been through about every caching plugin out there, ha! And finally ended
   up on this one, which was our host’s recommended plugin.
 * The issue was discovered when I was pushing site updates from our staging site(
   which is not cached) to our live site. The page editors remembered all my changes,
   but were not rendered on the front-end. After manually re-saving each page, everything
   came up correctly. However, when digging into the issue, it was discovered that
   a plugin had either rewritten or overridden the settings mentioned above. My 
   host even gave us a fresh .htaccess file, but it looks like the plugin was creating
   this? Not sure.

 * Hi there- I just wanted to follow up on this. We did another monthly push of 
   new material and even though everything was updated, I encountered the same problem
   and had to manually flush and then manually update every page in live after pushing
   staging through. I’m still getting the same warnings, as well.

 * Hey.
 * Yes, looks like our session usage is conflicting with caching plugins. We will
   check it in future updates.
 * But I don’t see the problem with staging site content on DreamHost. I have tried
   to create posts on the staging site, then migrate it to Live and everything is
   automatically working fine.
