 * I completely uninstalled the W3 Total Cache plugin following these instructions:
 * Delete wp-content files and folders
   – cache folder– w3tc-config folder– object-
   cache.php (if exists)– advanced-cache.php (if exists)– db.php (if exists)– upgrade
   folder– delete w3-total-cache folder in wp-content/plugins/ (if exists)
 * I also deleted the extra: nginx.conf.
 * Then when I activate another cache plug-in (i.e. not w3 Total cache) this error
   comes immediately: **W3 Total Cache Error:** some files appear to be missing
   or out of place. Please re-install plugin or remove **/home/public/wp-content/
   advanced-cache.php**.
 * How do I fix this?

 * I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to help!
 * Just to clarify, can you please share if the file exists in  **/home/public/wp-
   content/advanced-cache.php** ?
 * Can you please share the website URL?
 * Thanks!

 * Hello [@vmarko](https://wordpress.org/support/users/vmarko/) ,
 * Finally after a few tries it seemed to be somehow an object caching problem.
   All caching plugins were off, then I activated and configured redis object cache(
   [https://wordpress.org/plugins/redis-cache/](https://wordpress.org/plugins/redis-cache/))
   and the problem resolved itself.
 * Probably the object caching of W3 total cache remained active in the background
   while everything removed(?)

 * Hello [@mirkini](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mirkini/)
 * Thank you for your feedback and I am glad to know the problem is resolved.
 * Most likely the duplicate drop in, since the drop-ins have the same name
 * Thanks!
