# WebFinger error

 * Hi, I also have an error with webfinger.
 * This is my site health report:
 * `https://mydomain.social/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:myuser@mydomain.
   social` does not return valid JSON for `application/jrd+json`.
 * I have installed the plugin in a new wordpress installation, with latest software
   release version (6.2) without subdomains, without cache enabled, with no other
   plugins and the wordpress default theme. Just Let’s Encrypt Wildcard activated.
 * My host is Siteground and this is the error log report:
 * 2023-04-12 10:26:54 UTC [nginx][error] 5429#0: *10868201 openat() “/home/u836-
   vmgggww2ochv/www/mydomain.social/public_html/.well-known/webfinger” failed (2:
   No such file or directory), client: 34.175.210.00, server: mydomain.social, request:“
   GET /.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct:myuser@mydomain.social HTTP/1.1”, host:“

 * thanks for your report and your review 🙂
 * It is actually not really a bug, but a problem with a lot of shared hosting envs,
   because of their config with lets encrypt.
 * Could you send me your domain and maybe your webfinger id? So that I can have
   a look?

 * Oh, you also have a cache issue! The author page should not return JSON when 
   called in the browser!
 * And the same issue as others with WebFinger: [https://viajeros.social/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct%3Aviajerosadmin357qw%40viajeros.social](https://viajeros.social/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct%3Aviajerosadmin357qw%40viajeros.social)
 * This is an siteground error message, that means that the request does not go 
   through to WordPress at all 🙁
 * As I mentioned above, I try to find someone at siteground to discuss that issue.

 * Ok, let me know if you need to test something else on mi website. It is just 
   a test-site, so if you want to have user credentials to access the wordpress 
   background I have no problem to give you..
