Webfont loading slows the website down

According to google page insights the loading time for the fonts seems to be too long:
Anything that can be done to optimize it?
Google recommends to use font-display:

I do not see that fonts are causing any issues here regarding fonts. The font-display won’t really improve the performance. You have to improve all your other problems on the page and use a proper caching plugin.
