 * I decided to try the conversion to webp and got the following: “WebP rules verified,
but self-test failed: WebP response failed mime-type test. Purge all caches and
   try again”.
 * But the my site doesn’t use any caching plugin and the hosting says they don’t
   have caching either.
 * Also tried enabling “JS WebP Rewriting” but nothing changed. Files with the .
webp extension are created, but still jpg in the browser.
 * How can I find out what is preventing it from working?

 * Is it an Apache server? The rules only work on those. Can you share the system
info from the support tab of the plugin settings? If you would rather, you can
contact us directly and send them there: [https://ewww.io/contact-us/](https://ewww.io/contact-us/)

 * Yes, this is an Apache server. I submitted “system info from the support tab”
through the form on the support page.

 * As I already informed you on the support page:  I talked to the hosting and it
turned out that the server has the setting “Serving static content by nginx”.
After disabling this option, everything worked”.
 * The name of this option is not very intuitive to associate it with caching.
 * Thanks for the nice plugin. And sorry for the inconvenience.
