 * I installed the UpdraftPlus plug in and had it set to backup to my dropbox account.
   After about 20-30 minutes, my website froze and I was notified by my hosting 
   provider that …
 * Your site is currently causing the server to become unresponsive
    If this continues,
   we will be forced to disable the site as it is affecting all of our clients on
   the server.
 * As of right now, my website has been disabled by the hosting company.
 * What the heck happened????

 * This is webhosting-company-speak for “we don’t allocate enough resources for 
   you to be able to run a backup. If you try to run a backup, then either our resource
   restrictions will kick in, or our servers will be too overloaded, but either 
   way it’ll lock up access to your website”.
 * Best solution is to find a webhosting company that allow enough resources to 
   make a backup possible… which one is yours, BTW?

 * FSI Webs.
    This is total BS. Instead of giving me adequate time to fix the problem,
   they suspended my acct. which really makes us look bad to our customers. Im stunned!!!!

 * While the situation may be as you describe, I have had a similar problem since
   the last update. I have been using updraft plus on two different hosting companies
   for years now ( thanks for the work by the way). However recently on one account,
   it seems that each backup run is leaving a lot of open ZIP processes, waiting
   to read or write via pipe. (This hosting company is VERIO, running FreeBSD 6.4.)
   Eventually, after many days, number of open processes caused things to shut down.
 * Again, no solid info at this point, I am continuing to monitor the situation 
   via TOP.

 * Hi MDScot,
 * UD has various locks to make sure only one process is running a backup at once,
   so if you’re seeing zombie processes then that’s not normal. To not use the external
   process zip binary and avoid that, add this to your wp-config.php:
 * define(‘UPDRAFTPLUS_NO_BINZIP’, true);

 * I think I know what happened. Im taking this site over from someone else and 
   my predecessor had a plug in installed that changed the log-in from wp-admin 
   to something else. From what the hosting provider told me, there were numerous
   hits trying to log in under wp-admin. Maybe this was the issue, maybe not. When
   I feel brave enough, im going to turn that plug in off and try it again.
