Since you have access via ftp, navigate to wp-content and change the name of the plugins folder, something like pluginsOLD
then in your browser go to domain.com/wp-admin and see if you can log in?
If so, you can then rename your plugins folder back to plugins
Then turn your plugins back on one by one to find the one that has hosed your site
(changing the name of 1 plugin folder in the file structure deactivates that plugin, changing the name of the plugin folder shuts them all off)

You are a STAR, thank you very so much, I have renamed Plugin’s folder to OLD and all working again.
I will remove the plugin’s that i do not use anyway as all three that were updated were not active.
If I have any further problems, I’ll be back
Aagin thank you

I have narrowed down the problem to the following plug in
backupwordpress/plugin.php
The message I now receive by renaming the plugin in is
The plugin backupwordpress/plugin.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
Ironically, this is the plugin that I installed to protect my website, I will contact the developers and see if they can help.
Again thank you Rev Voodoo
I’m glad we got you back in!
Hi Shrab,
I’m the developer of the BackUpWordpress plugin.
Really sorry to hear that it broke your site, the good news is that I’ve fixed the issue in version 2.1.1
