 * Need help updating PHP
At this time, it appears that your site/plugins were
encoded using a lower version of PHP that is no longer available on this server
so, any sites that need PHP 5.0 or below will not function as intended. We highly
recommend seeing the assistance of a developer to update your site’s coding to
function with the latest version of PHP. I have checked the website and was able
to see the error message. The error seems to indicate that the fatal error in
the ionCube Encoder for PHP 4.0 which cannot run under PHP 7.1 or later: [18-
   Jan-2021 16:58:56 America/Denver] PHP Fatal error: The file /home2/riverto2/public_html/
index.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 4.0 and cannot run under
PHP 7.0. Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with
the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6. in Unknown on line 0
 * I have set PHP version 5.4 for account and was able to access the website. Here
   is the screenshot of website:

 * The website you posted doesn’t even seem to use WordPress, the HTML source code
says it was generated with “Starfield Technologies; Website Builder 7.0.190”.
So how would this forum be the right place to ask your question?

 * Thanks for the welcoming reply VIP Stephan! The site I’m working on is WP. Is“
Starfield Technologies; Website Builder 7.0.190” a template that I might have
downloaded? Having all sorts of difficulty doing what I need to do however.

Trying to update a site built on the WP platform in 2009.

 * Yeah, updating old sites is always a PITA. I’m not familiar with ionCube Encoder
but is it an option to just disable that? As far as I read it’s only responsible
for obfuscating PHP code, so just run it unobfuscated, at least for now?
