# Website extremely slow loading

 * I have read throug several posts dating back to 5 years ago, concerning slow 
   page loading times. I have deactivated / reactivated plugins. The Jetpack plugin
   seems to be the one that is causing some of the main issues. Now that I have 
   played around with it, my site is taking forwpever to load, rather than the 3-
   4 seconds it took before. Now we are taking up to 20 seconds! Please take a look

 * You should optimise your images for web.
 * Take a look at this. The images on that page are tiny by comparison to your dog
   photos.

 * I checked your home page’s loading speed using [https://tools.pingdom.com/](https://tools.pingdom.com/)
   and wow that’s slow. Please run a check yourself.
 * Yes as [@martcol](https://wordpress.org/support/users/martcol/) points out, your
   images could be optimised. But your site isn’t actually that over-sized.
 * The main problem was a 17 second wait for the server to respond, then direct 
   the site to the non-www domain. I don’t know what the exact problem is but suggest
   that delay is your priority to look at.
 * Google “Time to first byte”.
 * What hosting company are you with, Bluehost? This could be a problem at their
   end.
 * I’d guess that’s Nothing to do with Jetpack but you can test that theory by temporarily
   deactivating it then running another test.
 * And set up caching if you don’t already have it.
 * And I think Bluehost enable you to use Cloudflare – worth a look at that.
