website gone

    Hi, I assisted a friend to create her website and used the Theme Grill Flash theme. The theme and all it’s contents is now GONE and I’m left with the basic bare bones of the wordpress site. Any thoughts on why or how this might have happened?

    Hi @jobloom,

    Flash Theme requires some plugins to work properly. The plugins required are:

    • Flash Toolkit
    • siteOrigin pageBuilder
    • ThemeGrill Demo Importer

    Let us know what plugins you have installed.

    And if you have done a fresh installation of WordPress and theme. Try importing a demo through ThemeGrill Demo Importer.

    Thanks. Those plugins have remained installed and activated, I’m wondering if it is possible to get the website content back, there were many pages that have just disappeared. if you are aware of any way I can do this? Or do I need to start all over again?

    Wordpress was installed a few years ago, I have updated the Flash theme. all plugins are up to date. I feel like I’m going to have to start again 🙁

    Hi @jobloom,

    There was a security problem in an older version of the TG demo importer plugin, and people might have used it to reset your site. We’ve fixed it in the latest update and informed about it via the theme’s update to our user. You seem to miss it.
    Now, the best approach to tackle the problem is to contact your hosting service provider and ask to restore your site to the last working backup. After doing so, please delete or update the TG Demo Importer plugin to the latest version so that your site doesn’t face the same problem again.

    Ok, I Understand that I have lost the site altogether then as the backup could not be restored to a working version.
