    I updated my Moesia theme 10 minutes ago, my wordpress version was not updated though, I was supposed to do that next, and when I clicked on the link the message appears:

    Warning: require(/data/9/3/25/79/3840405/user/4266608/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/moesia/widgets/recent-comments.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /data/9/3/25/79/3840405/user/4266608/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/moesia/functions.php on line 158

    Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘/data/9/3/25/79/3840405/user/4266608/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/moesia/widgets/recent-comments.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php:/usr/services/vux/lib/php’) in /data/9/3/25/79/3840405/user/4266608/htdocs/WordPress/wp-content/themes/moesia/functions.php on line 158

    After that, every link shows this error, including my website

    http://www.claysaga.com

    Please help me!
    P.S.: I have used Network Solutions for hosting, as a blog.

    I have no backup as of now 🙁

  • Hi there!

    Do you have FTP or Cpanel access to your website?

    If so try navigating to wp-content/themes/moesia/

    and open the functions.php file.

    On line 158 you should see this code:

    require get_template_directory() . "/widgets/recent-comments.php";

    try commenting it out like this:

    //require get_template_directory() . "/widgets/recent-comments.php";

    Save the file and reload your website.

    Let us know if that helped 🙂

    It shouldn’t be done like this.

    The problem is that for some reason people weren’t able to update the whole theme package from the Dashboard. All the widgets were missing and perhaps some other files. They’re not actually missing, but they just didn’t get downloaded.
    It happened randomly as far as I can tell so far, some people were able to update and get the whole theme, some weren’t.

    So if anybody else still has this issue, you would need to remove the theme and reinstall it.

    Hello,

    I don’t have Cpanel or FTP Access, Network Solutions people don’t give FTP Access to people who have hosted using their wordpress package instead of web hosting! So if a theme crashes I have no way to access through FTP, and re-install the theme.
    I was not aware that updating themes or plugins could be this disastrous!
    NS people are not replying to me, I have opened customer service ticket, requested them politely but no answer since 1 day.
    My website is down and I’m really helpless.
    Is there really nothing else I could do?

    Sorry, as I already told you on our forums you would need to wait for them to answer and delete the theme folder.

    Updating shouldn’t have been this disastrous but, as I said, when you updated you didn’t get whole theme, hence the errors. This is out of our hands.
