• Hi there,

When visitors arrive from a search engine my site http://www.indiecater.com (if you type indiecater in google it is the first item) does not load. It will load ok once the visitor presses the enter button.

The site is loading fine from direct links.

Would be really grateful for any advice on this issue,

    Cheers,
    Kevin

Works fine from a direct link – i.e. if you click the above link. The problem is if you come at it via a google search. The page will not load unless you press enter. Hope this makes sense. Thanks for trying though.

can you post screen shot. if i try indiecater then Google show first link for your website

Yes, but click the link and what do you get?

I bet it won’t take you straight to the site as expected. That is the problem I’m afraid.

    Thanks again for your time.

Ok, thanks. Unfortunately it is not working for me or for any of my friends who are located at other PCs in different locations.

Would anyone else have some clues as to why this is happening?

Yes indiecater, I can see what you mean. I clicked your link and it worked fine, but the google search leaves a link which leads to a blank page, very strange indeed. It looks like Pankaj hasnt tried the google link

Yes i also faced the issue. let me know what plugins you are using for. seems problem with http refer.

Thanks Contraption, yeah it’s a real odd one which has only happened in the last fortnight.

Pankaj, your replies are a little inconsistent.

yes my reply was inconsistent as i have not clicked on link i copied link and pasted on another tab. to compare link as i thought there is mismatch in links. your theme or any plugin is checking http refer before rendering the page. in case of google it seems fail. we need to check what is that issue.

can you switch the theme then try. also disable plugins then try.

Pankaj – I disabled all the plugins and also switched themes like you suggested but unfortunately the issues remains. Perhaps it is the new version of WordPress that has caused this?
