 * Hello Forum!
 * I am a long time wordpress user and consider myself an intermediate user, meaning
   I can maintain my website on my own, load plugins, customise etc.
 * I moved over to the Neve theme approx 2 years ago after reading what it has to
   offer in terms of clean, fast and responsive and the reviews it had received.
   I am using the free version (but I am seriously considering upgrading to the
   paid version) and I have been relatively happy with all the abilities in the
   free version.
 * One thing that keeps holding back my website from a great ‘fast’ loading score
   is the following:
 * “The transfer size of the website is too big”
   “Optimize the transfer size of
   your website. It will load faster. The transferred volume of your HTML code is
   very large at 1,085 KB. It should not be more than 64 KB.”
 * The website has a page cache installed, optimol for image optimisation, connected
   to cloudfare and other tweaks I’ve tried to try and get the best possible score
   for ranking, however, I just can’t seem to crack the issue of transfer volume.
 * Is this a plugin issue, theme issue, or host issue?
 * I am also having a plugin conflict (I think) as my images, although optimised
   through optimol, don’t load equally each time. Sometimes blurred, other times
   they don’t load. Could Optimol and the CDN be in conflict?
 * Would really appreciate some advice and if someone can offer a solution, that
   would be brilliant.
 * Many thanks in advance!
 * Dori

 * Hi Dori,
 * Thank you for being a long-time Neve user! It’s great to hear that the theme
   has served you well over the last two years, and we appreciate you considering
   the Pro version.
 * Based on your description, this is likely a **Plugin/Configuration issue**.
    - **Theme:** Neve’s default HTML output is minimal.
    - **Host:** Usually handles _delivery_ speed, not the _size_ of the code generated.
    - **Plugins:** This is the most likely culprit for the 1,085 KB HTML size.
 * Because Neve is built for speed and is incredibly lightweight out of the box,
   this issue with a large HTML code is rarely caused by the theme itself. It usually
   stems from:
    - **Page Builders:** If you are using Elementor or Otter Blocks with very complex
      layouts (nested sections), the DOM size increases significantly.
    - **“Lazy Loading” Bloat:** Sometimes, plugins meant to optimize can actually
      inject large amounts of inline CSS or Base64 images directly into the HTML.
    - **Unclosed Tags or Script Injection:** A plugin might be injecting a large
      amount of tracking code or data directly into the header/footer.
 * **Recommendation:** Try disabling your Page Cache and Cloudflare “Minification”
   temporarily to see if the raw HTML size changes. You can also use [View Source]
   in your browser to see if there is a specific block of code (like a massive JSON
   object from a plugin) taking up space.
 * Hope this helps.
 * Kind regards!

 * Hi Rodicaelena,
 * Many thanks for your reply and explaining what to look for. Yes, plugins, I find,
   are a real hit and miss, even the ones that come highly recommended with enormous
   amounts of downloads and reviews! I find they are like a minefield! I recently
   installed a new plugin, with much regret! It has done something to my backend
   and I cannot login to my wpadmin, but my host support is working with me to resolve
   🙁
 * I love to have flexibility with the design of my website and am always looking
   to improve its efficiency and aesthetic, which is why I love Neve so much.
 * I didn’t realise that plugins can take up so much html space as it is not something
   obvious when one researches and reads about the function. I find a lot of plug-
   ins claim to be ‘fast’ and ‘little impact’, but that seems to not be the case
   across the board.
 * Perhaps if I bite the bullet and go straight to the pro version, I may not have
   the need for these other plug-ins that are affecting my transfer size! Would
   that be a correct assumption?
 * Again, thanks so much,
 * Dori

 * Hi Dori,
 * It’s great to hear from you again! I’m so sorry to hear about the login issues.
   Hopefully, your host can get you back into your admin area quickly.
 * Regarding your question about **Neve Pro**, your assumption is actually very
   spot on, though it ultimately **depends on which specific plugins you are currently
   using.** For example:
    - If you use plugins for **Header/Footer building**, Neve Pro will definitely
      replace them.
    - If you use plugins for **Blog layouts or WooCommerce tweaks**, Neve Pro has
      those covered.
    - However, if you have highly specialized plugins (like a complex booking system
      or a specific contact form), you might still need those.
 * To help you see exactly what features you’d be getting (and which plugins you
   could potentially delete), you can check out this detailed breakdown here: 👉**

 * Rodica
