 * The past few weeks my site broke down multiple times. I contacted a few WP developers
   and also the hosting provider, and they suggested that ‘one of the plugins’ might
   be the culprit or causing issues with other plugins.
 * **I would like to spend less time fixing my [@wordpress](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wordpress/)
   site and more time building my business. **
 * And so, I was wondering if it is possible to develop a good, reliable, and functional
   website without using any plugins.
 * Any comments or recommendations?

 * Good? Yes, definately.
 * Reliable? Most likely. The less code, the less things that can go wrong.
 * Functional? Maybe, maybe not. It depends 100% on what functions you need from
   the site.
 * As an example, a standard blog or brochure site can easily be made with a default
   theme and some time designing pages. On the other hand, an e-commerce site that
   offers memberships subscriptions or other servives will most likely need plugins
   to expand the functioanity of the site to provied the functionality that’s required
   for those sort of things.
 * In your case, it’s impossible to say if a plugin was or was not the problem,
   so I wouldn’t personally blame a plugin when we don’t know what the problem is/
   was, and what was done to fix it.

 * You should probably consider switching to a reputable **MANAGED WORDPRESS HOSTING**
   provider that takes care of all the technical stuff — hosting, plugins, themes,
   etc — behind the scenes for you, so you can focus on building your business.
   WordPress.COM is one such provider, but there are a few more out there (just
   google the capitalized phrase above.)
 * When it comes to hosting, you often get what you pay for.
